The epoxy polyester coating construction method mainly includes the following steps:

Surface treatment: First, make sure the surface of the coating is clean, free of impurities and dust. For metal surfaces, sandblasting or shot blasting is required to remove rust and meet the international Sa2.5 standard; for concrete surfaces, air dry to a moisture content of ≤10% and clean up.

Preparing the coating: Mix the epoxy resin paint and curing agent in a certain ratio, usually 10:1 (weight ratio). If the temperature is below 10℃ in winter, the ratio is 4:1. After mixing, it needs to be matured for 10 to 15 minutes.

Primer construction: Use a roller or brush to evenly apply the mixed epoxy primer on the base surface. Primer can enhance adhesion and improve anti-penetration.

Topcoat construction: After the primer is dry, apply the topcoat in the same way. Usually 2-3 coats are required, and each coat must be completely dried before the previous coat.

Drying and curing: After the construction is completed, wait for more than 24 hours to ensure that the paint is fully dried and cured. It usually takes 7 days for the topcoat to fully cure.

Features of epoxy polyester coatings include:

Strong adhesion: Epoxy polyester coatings have extremely strong adhesion, especially on metal surfaces.

Strong corrosion resistance: Good acid and alkali resistance, oil resistance, especially alkali resistance.

Good wear resistance: The coating has excellent wear resistance and impact resistance.

Good thermal stability: The coating will not deteriorate even after being placed for one to two years.

Common problems and solutions:

Powdering problem: Epoxy polyester coatings may powder after spraying, which is usually caused by excessive humidity or low temperature in the construction environment. The solution is to ensure that the temperature and humidity of the construction environment are suitable and avoid construction under extreme weather conditions.

Poor weather resistance: Epoxy polyester coatings are not weather-resistant and are not suitable for outdoor use.
